Non-binary is a way to pretend you are different, alien, like emo but colorful and at risk of same medicalizations as trans.

Non-binary is a waystation between your sex and opposite sex that you aspire to be but don’t pass at.

Non-binary is a protest against sex based stereotypes that were rejected 50 years ago but now thanks to social media are more exaggerated as ever, photoshopped perfections.

Non-binary is a way to avoid claiming your sexed biology.

Non-binary is a rebellion against parents who disapprove.

Non-binary is a big FU to a world that is fun, but lonely after the hype wears away.

Non-binary is a way for mediocre male athletes to win easy cash.

Non-binary is a way for female athletes to stand out while staying in female category.

Very interesting and thoughtful observations. Thank you. For those claiming "non-binary" status within the so called "helping professions," of counseling, social work, therapy, etc. - one can't help but wonder if it is a way to certify one's own "credibility" to work with those claiming "gender dysphoria," and with "transition issues" - without having to actually dip into the waters oneself. "Non-binary" identifies oneself as - "part of the tribe" - without having to engage in any of the "scarification rituals" of trans. Its a sort of "safe-space" within the barking madness of it all.

The BBC Nolan interviews were fascinating. One of them was with the "first nonbinary mayor" somewhere in England. This guy (assuming this based on his voice) was asked in several differing and very polite ways to define what "nonbinary" is, but he was unable to do so, despite claiming this as his identity. OK, so if they can't tell us what they are, how are us mere gender peasants supposed to know?

It has probably always been a part of human adolescence to rebel a bit, to find your own way forward. But until recently, no one supported teens in permanently mutilating themselves in this process. https://lucyleader.substack.com/p/looking-back-from-the-future

There is no such animal as a nonbinary mammal. And note to this "community". If you are an ovulating nonbinary and you have unprotected sex with an ejaculating nonbinary, you may well discover that you are not nonbinary at all when a brand-new human starts growing inside you.

Also,

Non-binary means you don't have to do anything at all to change yourself, but still requires everyone around you to walk on eggshells.

First day on the job.

Boss: "This is uh Randella"

"Randella" has pink and cyan hair, a nose ring, strange makeup, and is festooned with pins and tags projecting "queer" credentials

"Randella": "My pronouns are they/them! What are yours?"

Me (to boss, after a lip-curling up-and-down look at the coworker): "Would you excuse me?"

(walks away)

At least there is such a thing as Gender Identity Disorder, even if it's been replaced by the medically incoherent "gender dysphoria," which is based on self-reports and nothing more. But there are only about 5000 with GID in the entire USA, 3/4 of them male.

"Nonbinary" has no psychiatric basis whatsoever; while "trans" is 99+% fake, "nonbinary" is 100.0% fake. It is contemptible and they should be shunned and shamed.

best was the Jesus and Mo cartoon a few years back. “We are special” said Moses

"neither female nor male" is really not implausible. In fact, some third of us qualify as such from birth to the onset of puberty. For example, see this Wiley Online Library article by a couple of very reputable biologists:

Wiley: “Another reason for the wide-spread misconception about the biological sex is the notion that it is a condition, while in reality it may be a life-history stage. For instance, a mammalian embryo with heterozygous sex chromosomes (XY-setup) is not reproductively competent, as it does not produce gametes of any size. Thus, strictly speaking it does not have any biological sex, YET.” [my emphasis]

https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/bies.202200173

And "biologists" Jerry Coyne and Colin Wright have more or less explicitly endorsed the idea:

Coyne: "Those 1/6000 individuals are intersexes, neither male nor female."

https://whyevolutionistrue.com/2023/06/04/sf-chronicle-sex-and-gender-are-not-binaries/#comment-2048737

Eva Kurilova: "With great patience, Wright answered that an individual could theoretically be sexless, but that doesn’t mean sex itself is no longer binary."

A major problem with the whole transgender clusterfuck is that has precipitated, or is maybe the result, of the general corruption of biology, a notable aspect of which is the risible and quite unscientific "idea" that everyone has to have a sex.
